Doubt in JSP?


Hi friends i search in so many web sites but i didn't get any proper information can any one tell me why jsp doesn't have web.xml actually jsp converted to servlet?

Hi Hiri, No need, because if your server accept request from client. It will check web.xml file in your project. if do not find the mapping, it will check another web.xml in tomcat server under $TOMCAT_HOME/conf foder. In this file, you will find the config <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>jsp</servlet-name> <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern> <url-pattern>*.jspx</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> This config will be used when you request jsp files.

Thank you chandra sekhar.my another doubt is if i did't write xml for servlet it will check another web.xml in tomcat server under $TOMCAT_HOME/conf foder or not?
